FAQ

1. Can I choose my own roommate?
   Yes, you can choose who you want to room with at camp.  When you check-in on the first day of camp, we will ask you who you would like to have as your roommate.  You do not need to indicate your roommate prior the check-in.  Rooms are set up for two campers.  Triples are allowed with prior approval from the camp director and only for special circumstances.
2. I will be coming with a team of 12 or more.  Do we need to register together or can we register separately?
   You can register separately but just make sure to indicate that you are coming with a team of 12 or more so that you receive the $20 discount.
3. What is included in the free camp kit that every camper receives upon check-in?
   Every camper receives a camp kit that includes a reversible mesh jersey with the All Star Field Hockey logo, a mouth guard, ball, lanyard, water bottle and a mesh carrying bag.
4. If a camper takes prescription medication, how is that handled?
   All medication is kept in a locked box in the room of the Certified Athletic Trainer.  The camp director and athletic trainer have access to the medication at all times.  Parents will fill out a medication form requiring a signature for each prescription the camper has.  Should a camper require medication that needs to be stored in a refrigerator, just let the athletic trainer know when you check-in on the first day of camp.
5. Do I have to send in the medical form when I register my daughter online (or send in the registration form via postal mail)?
   No, the medical form can be sent in separately.  It is due no later than July 25th.  It is important to register your daughter for camp first to reserve a spot and send in the medical form at a later date if it is not already completed.
6. My physician's office can provide me with a print out of immunization records and physical examination information.  Can I send in that document instead of the ASFH health form?
   Your physician's form can be attached to the ASFH health form but you still need to send in the ASFH health form, too.  Simply complete the information on the camp form that are not on the phsycian's form.  You can leave the sections blank on the camp form of the information that is printed on your physician's form.  Please make sure the emergency contact information is completed on the ASFH health form.
7. Who supervises the campers in the dormitory at night?
   The camp director and assistant director reside in dormitory along with the Certified Athletic Trainer.  Also, on each floor there are two assistant coaches (collegiate players) who are in charge of their respective floors.  There is also a security guard stationed at the front desk of the building throughout the duration of camp.
8. Is the website a secure site so that I can safely enter my credit card information?
   Yes, the website is absolutely secure.  However, if you prefer not to enter your credit card information online, you may call 413-782-1870 to speak with the camp director and provide your credit card information over the phone.
9. What type of credit cards do you accept?
   Mastercard, Visa, and Discover.
10. My daughter will have to leave early from camp.  Is that ok?
    Yes.  Please be sure to contact the camp director prior to the start of camp or at check-in on the first day of camp.  The departure time and name of the individual who is picking your daughter up at camp would be needed.
11. I registered my daughter for camp and now I have to cancel her registration.  Do I receive a refund?
    There is a $200 non-refundable deposit, no exceptions.  If you paid in full, the $200 deposit would be kept but you would be refunded the balance.
12. My daughter has never played field hockey before but wants to attend the camp.  Would she be able to attend without any playing experience?
    Absolutely!  We group all campers by age, playing experience and level of play (varsity, jv, etc.).  We have several campers each year attend the camp who have never played before and they leave with a great foundation of the basic skills and techniques of the game!
13. Does the camp store sell equipment?
    Yes!  We have a great selection of field hockey sticks for field players and goalies.  We also sell shin guards and mouth guards as well as a variety of apparel, novelty items, snacks, etc.  Please see the camp store section of this website.
14. Does the camp store accept credit cards?
    Yes!  Mastercard, Visa, and Discover are accepted at the camp store.
